EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE IS NOT AVAILABLE THROUGH THIS WEBSITE.
IF YOU HAVE AN EMERGENCY, DIAL 911.
The Colorado chapter of NENA/APCO is committed to providing complete public safety communications expertise, professional development, technical assistance, advocacy and outreach to benefit our members and the public. We foster technological advancement, availability and implementation of a universal emergency telephone number system (9-1-1) by promoting research, planning, training and education.
Good morning, Colorado NENA and APCO Members! I hope you are having a wonderful summer! We have a lot going on at your state NENA/APCO Chapter, so read on!
Our Commercial Advisory Member, Jennifer Schwartz, has taken a new role outside the private sector and has stepped down from her CAM position on the CO Executive Board. We want to thank Jennifer for her hard work supporting the chapter and the state conference! This leaves one year left in her term (serving until May 2026). We are asking for those interested in filling the open Commercial Advisory Member role to email me no later than July 15, 2025 at jennifer.kirkland@conenaapco.org. Any Colorado commercial member is eligible; please see our current bylaws on our website at www.conenaapco.org for specific role information.
The chapter will then hold a special election to fill the open Eastern Region Director and Commercial Advisory Member roles on the Board. We had six interested members in the Eastern Region Director role, which is fabulous! One has since withdrawn. We appreciate everyone who is interested in serving on the Board and thank them for running!
We have lots of opportunities to serve in your chapter outside of Board positions as well. We are looking for Committee Chairs for the following committees: Education, Membership, and Peer Support. Additionally, we are looking for volunteers to serve on the following Committees: Conference Planning, Finance, Membership, Outreach, Education, Peer Support, Awards, and TERT. These are fantastic opportunities to make a difference in your state chapter without committing to Board roles. If you are interested in volunteering, please reach out to me at jennifer.kirkland@conenaapco.org.
If you are attending the NENA conference next week in Long Beach, please plan to meet in the hallway outside the opening keynote session, directly after the session, for the CO picture! Look for the CO flag!
On behalf of the Board, we are looking forward to an amazing year full of activities in our state chapter! It's even better when YOU are part of it!
Sincerely,
Jennifer
Let us know if you're going to a national conference to be notified of any Colorado-specific gatherings or events at that conference!
